Not really, airbags can go off without being attached to the vehicle and hooked up. When you are carrying a airbag equipped steeringwheel that hasnt been deployed, you hold the airbag side away from you they can still diploy.

Ah ASE Certified Autmotive Tech like me that is also Certified in Emission repairs also dont know what I am talking about when it comes to automotive safety equipment?That is very funny, Thanks for saying that though cause now I have something funny to mention to the techs I work with.I am sure they will laugh at your stupidity and self proclaimed knowledge of automotive safety equipment.Speed sensor operated airbags that is funny since airbags can go off without even being hooked up to the car.

lol incorrect, the airbag sensors are not activated by speed in the OBD I & OBD II systems. THe airbag sensor is just a contact held open by a spring. Enough force in the right place will cause the weight of the contact to depress the spring to engage the airbag.

yea but cars dont use sensors to measure if the car is moving to deploy the airbag. The lastest airbags that I know about has a sensor at the front and back if that sensor is tripped the air bag goes off. Car doesnt have to move at all. New OBDIII that is coming out might be different (havent messed with that yet) but whats out now uses independent sensors.

Earlier models burned that where Class 1. We now have Class 2 didn’t burn. Class 3 now adjust the punch for what is needed.
